Highway Radar is an application designed to assist drivers in staying informed about road hazards, cameras, and speed traps. It sources traffic-related data from various outlets and offers alerts regarding potential risks on the road.

• Crowd-sourced alerts: The app can connect to a server that aggregates crowd-sourced alerts, displaying them on a map. Additionally, it issues audible voice warnings and, optionally, a beeper for increased alertness. At present, the application supports alerting users about speed traps and road hazards.
• Aircraft alerts: In regions where aircraft traffic enforcement is utilized, Highway Radar gathers information from air traffic via ADS-B exchange sites like ADSBx and OpenSky. This data is cross-referenced with multiple registration databases to notify drivers specifically about aircraft capable of traffic enforcement.
• Historical data analysis: Highway Radar compiles past police and speed trap reports to evaluate the likelihood of heavy patrolling in a particular area. The app also incorporates a heat map highlighting locations with frequent speed trap reports.
• Speed and red-light cameras: Users receive warnings when approaching speed or red-light cameras, a feature restricted to the USA and Canada.
• Additional features: Highway Radar provides insights into nearby traffic congestion and offers local weather radar information.
